Part 2, some time later........
The previously grubby and
corroding internal sections have are cleaned, the corrosion
flatted back to clean aluminium and all the internal sections are treated
to a generous coating of wax. This picture shows the now clean "grot trap". Although this is not going to permanently stop the
bi-metallic corrosion between the steel and aluminium, it'll certainly slow it
down.
Internal steel cavities such
as the inertia reel seat belt enclosures have also had a substantial coating of
wax.
Messy but protected!
